Before opening a manual record, confirm the parcel has physically arrived and the client is supported by item or parcel evidence. A ReturnZap expected-return entry alone does not prove receipt.
Where to start
Where this restock applies
Record each line
- Open Returns and create a manual return. Add an order reference only when the parcel evidence supports it.
- Inspect every physical line and choose its actual condition. Do not leave the default 'good' unless it matches the inspection.
- Use Restock only for an inspected good line with one unambiguous local SKU match.
- Confirm the local quantity changed as intended. A saved return line is not proof of a stock increase.
Questions and hand-off
If The item is damaged or a writeoff
Record that condition and keep it out of sellable stock.
If The SKU has multiple local inventory rows or its location is unclear
Do not use manual Restock; hand off the client, SKU, and intended warehouse location to a Warehouse Admin.
If The parcel is an expected ReturnZap return
Use the receiving and identification workflow; do not create a duplicate manual return.
If A good-line restock fails
Keep the error and physical item together and escalate rather than repeating blindly.
