Troubleshooting: Blocked Shipments

Why a shipment might be blocked and how to resolve it.

Updated Aug 2026
Owner: Operations Admin
Area: Shipping

Before you begin

Turn a blocked shipment into a specific correction or safe hand-off by reading the preflight reason first.

Prerequisites

  • The order and shipment detail are open.
  • The displayed preflight or safety reason is captured before changing source data.
  • The Admin knows whether the correction belongs in Shopify, StoreFulfil, or the carrier setup.

Stop and check

Do not override validation, invent recipient data, or create another shipment to get past a block.

Shipments are halted when preflight validation returns a safety or compliance reason.

Resolution Steps

  1. Review the returned safety or preflight reason presented in the UI.
  2. Correct the underlying data in the source platform.
  3. Run a client sync to update the local fulfilment record.

What this is and when to use it

Use this when StoreFulfil stops a shipment and shows a safety or preflight reason.

Clear the named problem

  1. Open the order and read the exact reason.
  2. Identify whether the correction belongs in Shopify, StoreFulfil setup, or DHL.
  3. Have the correct owner fix the source value.
  4. Refresh or sync once, then read the new result before trying shipment again.

Questions and hand-off

If The reason is unclear

Do not guess a recipient, carrier, or parcel value. Give the order and visible message to an Admin.

If The block remains after correction

Leave the shipment unsubmitted and escalate with both results.

What happens next

A cleared preflight returns the order to the normal shipment flow; an unresolved block remains owned with its reason.

Expected Outcome

The block reason is resolved according to the specific preflight failure.

Runbook evidence

Use these signals to decide whether the work is ready to continue, complete, or needs an owner.

State checkpoints

Blocked before shipment

StoreFulfil has prevented shipment because a current safety or preflight condition failed.

Next: Read the exact reason and identify its source-data owner.

Correction made

The owner has corrected the underlying value, but StoreFulfil has not yet confirmed the new state.

Next: Run the supported sync or re-check and read the result.

Ready or still blocked

The new preflight result either permits the shipment or names a remaining blocker.

Next: Proceed only when ready; otherwise hand off with evidence.

Completion evidence

  • The named block is cleared and the shipment result is visible.

Escalation evidence

  • Record the order, shipment, preflight reason, correction owner, sync result, and time.

Work safely

Who may take this action

Warehouse Admin; Warehouse Operators must hand the visible preflight reason to an Admin

What you should see

StoreFulfil has prevented shipment because a current safety or preflight condition failed.

Safe next step

Read the exact reason and identify its source-data owner.

What not to do

Do not override validation, invent recipient data, or create another shipment to get past a block.

How to tell it is complete

The named block is cleared and the shipment result is visible.
